Come and enjoy the massed display of wildflowers beautifully staged in the Historic Bindoon Hall, this year’s theme “The Year of the Forest”, with over 200 named specimens.
Browse amongst the stalls for gifts, local produce and souvenirs, see the entries in our photographic competition (NB if you want to enter the competition, click here for entry forms); then stay and enjoy the ambiance with morning or afternoon teas, served in the hall.
We offer conducted tours twice daily @ 11am and 2pm with bush walking and self drive maps.
The Chittering Wildlife Carers will put on a display, with orphaned native animals and birds.
There will be an “Artist in Residence” painting wildflowers and painting faces.
Coaches welcome.
Chittering is famous for its wildflowers. We have 3
distinct zones that come together in this Shire and produce a great diversity
of native flora which includes the rare and endangered Star Sun Orchid Thelymitra
stellata. This year will be our15th Annual Show and every
year it gets bigger and better.
Experience a fascinating day in the country.
Or why not book in at one of the many B&Bs, farmstays
or self contained chalets in the valley and stay a while. You would then have
time to visit our museum and craft centre, or take in a tour at New Norcia or visit
West Coast Honey and sample their delicious homemade honey ice cream.
There is such a
lot to see and do in the beautiful Chittering Valley at any time of the year
but, if you visit in spring, you will be bewitched by our enchanting spider
orchids, leschenaultia, fringed lilies and the spectacular display of kangaroo
paws and banksias. Come and see them for
yourself.
